Rules & Regulations

Eligibility: Services are open to active duty personnel, retirees, and their dependants. A current military ID with DEERS enrollement is required.

Appointment Cancellation Policy: The demand for veterinary care far exceeds the capability of our staff. Please cancel your appoinment within 24 business hours as failed appointments are detrimental to the rest of the community.

Children: Due to health and safety concerns, it is recommended that parents do not bring children under the age of 12 into the facility. If children are present they must be strictly supervised. Parents are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children.

Leashes/Carriers: Dogs must be restrained on a leash and cats must be in a carrier while inside the facility.

On-Base Housing: Soaring Heights required that pets have permanent means of identivication such as a microchip. It is also required that young pet be current on their rabies vaccination. Although the VTF will try to send out reminders, it is the owner's responsibility to make sure their pet(s) vaccines don't expire.

Off-Base Housing: Alamogordo and the surronding cities of Otero County require all pets have a city license issued by their local animal control facility. To complete this you must have a current rabies certificate (Spayed/Neutered pets recieve a discount).
